I know most of the folk here prefer HTFs, limited releases, CCs and other higher price point smokes, but as a dude who makes less than 6 figures and lives in Southern California, I can't afford super high end smokes all that often. I've found a good handful of very enjoyable sticks on CI in the $2-4 a stick range, but it takes a willingness to risk the investment on a poor stick every now and again.

I had really good luck with the Cohiba Knock offs, and I smoke those just about every day, but I saw these and was wondering if anyone has tried them. The reviews seem positive, but I'd rather get a more firsthand opinion, as you all seem to have pretty good taste.

Seconds, Gran Habanos, and Oliva sale boxes are going to have to do for me until I make more money, or until I can find a reliable source for "imports," as it were.

My brother doesn't like to spend a lot on cigars. He buys patel 2nds and likes them. I don't enjoy them.

I do enjoy the oliva you can find in that range. Serie O and G are fine by me :)

I've smoked a few bundles of the vintage seconds. Mostly the '92 Vintage Perfectos. They are really good sticks if you've had the regular vintage line. They burn great too. You are safe to chance it and they are on Cbid almost daily for dirt cheap.

Sweet, thanks guys. And for the record, Chef, I've never smoked an Oliva I didn't love (though I haven't tried the Flor de Oliva).

Take a look at the Ligero Laced 2nds on CI. I believe it was decided that they were Oliva Cain 2nds. They can be had for about $1.50-$2.50 a piece. I used to smoke the "H" robusto all the time when I was starting out and they are in stock right now. Now that I think about it, might have to pick up a bundle for winter :)!

I almost bought a bundle of those! Being so new to cigars, I've been shying away from the "full bodied" sticks, but lately I'm finding that they're generally more interesting than a mild Connie or even some of the higher end Cameroons and Corojos.

I don't know, I might be ready to try a couple powerhouses; I have enough Connies and medium Cohibas to last me for a good while, no reason not to throw in some experimentation...
