Don Pepín Garcia My Father No. 2

Excellent cigar, although not as spicy as say, the Pepín Cuban Classic. I tasted the mild spice that I like from Pepín, but not enough for me. Definitely consistent, wonderful flavors throughout. I would say a medium body for sure. The biggest positive for this cigar was the construction. Man, this is a well-made cigar! I had the No. 2 (5.2 x 54). No unravels, stayed tight all the way through to the end. I would probably not get too many more of these in the future, as there are way too many cigars out there to try, but I do plan on putting a couple in the humidor to age.

Another great review. The My Father I believe is actually done by Pepin's son as a tribute to his father. The cigar band is beautiful as is the cigar itself. I loved the lance but was not all to fond of the others. Give the lance a try, you'll be glad that you did.

Whoa bro you are on fire !!! Good review. I have never had a Pepin in my life "maybe soon thanks to CATeacher"due to me being in the middle east where NCs and DCs are our CCs. So what do you reckon bro ? Should I look for a couple to set in the humi or get a fiver ?

BTW your avatar looks like a lighter skinned cartoon of myself ! LoL

There is something refined & delicate about the My Father that I just love & crave. I didn't detect it at first - it wasn't until months later that I revisited it that I noticed it. Maybe it was age on the sticks? Perhaps it was my own changing taste. I have been craving more medium-bodied sticks lately...

The My Father is an excellent blend (and yes, one of the finest looking bands in the business), one that Jaime & Pepin are & should be proud of. It's become one of my absolute favorites!

If you don't 'taste it' now, revisit it later! Just my honest opinion!

Thanks for all the replies everyone! Yes, I will pick up a couple more and let them age...see where that gets me. I have too many Cuban Classics sitting right now that I got to get through... :smokingbo

Pepin Garcia's blends are quickly becoming some of my favs.

Haha, the avatar was a quick snap of my Nintendo Mii cleaned up in PS a little...

I would say it's good enough for a fiver, definitely!

Thanks! Yes, the band is a work of art. I usually toss the bands out, but I'm keeping this one in the humidor drawer...

I have one of these in a lancero and I've been waiting to spark it up. Great little review!
I have been away from BOTL for way too long. I plan to post up more mini-reviews after I smoke 'em as time permits!

I'm definitely a fan of the fatter cigars, but I have been known to smoke lanceros here and there. I'll try this one in Lancero at some point.
