I figured since the Jamie Garcia Reserva Especial has its own thread, the La Reloba cigar should as well.

There is virtually no information on the net about this cigar (that I could find anyway).....and it's priced similarly to the Jamie Garcia Reserva as far as I can tell.

Anyone offer any insight on this stick?

I know it comes in a Habano and a Sumatra wrapper...but is it a Don Pepin or a Jamie blend, flavors/strength etc.?

Thanks Larry....I did see that though, as it's how I knew these came in a Habano and a Sumatra wrapper ;). Just was wondering if anyone has actually smoked one of these bad boys. I suppose it would've had to of been a pre-release, although I do know of one shop that has em'.....but it's not even remotely close to me....so I can't exactly drive over there and sample one or two (just a few measly states separating us...LOL!).

Are you sure it's the La Reloba, because Janny posted on the 27th that they weren't due out for another two weeks.

Well Larry....I haven't seen it with my own two eyes.....but I was emailing directly with the shop owner and he just got his shipment in two days ago.

He was told by his rep he was the first (or one of the first i'd guess) to have the Jamie Reservas and the La Relobas in stock.

KPP,

What B&M has the La Reloba in already? Would be interested to see if they ship or have a website.

Thanks.

Looks like Podman from the Burning Leaf might have these in stock as well.......or perhaps soon anyway. Support the site sponser!

My contact is a brand new shop owner, hasn't even opened his doors yet. He's doing so next week I believe. And thanks for the tip WhiteLightning.....but for now I'm settling for a box of the Jamie Garcias instead!...LOL!

Nope pretty sure the leaf doesn't have them. If they did there would have been a charge on my credit card or the very least a phone call or text.

And you say I cant keep a secret.

The shop owner is a good guy. Just got 2 boxes of air benders and 2 boxes of Viaje Platinos in from him.

I wish him the best of luck.

I've lurked awhile, but couldn't pass up the La Reloba conversation. I've had about a dozen and love them, especially for the price, which in Ks. is from $4.95-$7.10 (corona to torpedo, robustos are $6.05 & toros $6.60). Let it be known that I'm a Pepín fanatic, which tends to mean something in flavor preference, but if you're even on the fence about Pepín (seems unlikely at this time) this is a cigar worth checking out. Of that handful, all but one have been Habano. I've had a Sumatra and liked it, but I just really like the Habano.

When I lit my first one up, I was wondering what DPG was trying to pull. 'I know this blend,' I said to myself. After a quarter-way through I'd figured it out. This goes especially for the robusto, I didn't get it so much in the corona size, but if it didn't remind me of a Padilla Miami 8 & 11 from the Pepín years, may I be sentenced to serve as Rob Reiner's valet for life. Virtually everything in the Habano robusto, from the flawless silver ash to the sweet, nutty and bready tasting notes with that hint of caramel, hit those Padilla Miami nerve centers. (At this point I'd like to point out that the new 8 & 11 is, to my taste, even better than the Pepín-made ones. Just to be fair to Ernesto.) It may remind some of the El Rey de los Habanos, but it is basically in this lineage of Pepín-made cigars.

In short, for $6 and change, the La Reloba is a no-brainer. Highest recommendation I can give.
