Katman talked about using a pipe for nubs and now I see a thread posted a little over two years ago about using a pipe for your nubs. Does anyone do this regularly?

Have started doing it this winter. Extremely cold temps have caused havoc in too many wrappers. I smoke the leaf in a cob. Not the same as smoking a cigar, but I found the cob adds a sweetness that is quite nice in its own right. And no more wasted sticks.
In a partially smoked cigar, I cut away any of the leaf that was burned or has tar.

There is an old timer that comes into the shop who smokes all of his cigars that way and has been doing it for years. He actually goes through looking for new cigars with the right ring guage, so they fit snug in the pipe.

Smokes it from the start in the pipe or just the nub?

You'll probably all laugh at me but every time I cut a cigar I put the cap / clippings into a mason jar with the intent to smoke them in a pipe some day. I have done this for over a year and have a full mason jar now but I still haven't apocked it into a pipe and tried it yet. It will probably be awful but I'm curious tgo try one of these days.

Make sure to put a boveda pack or some other type of humidification in the jar.

Oh, I think those caps are beyond any help Boveda can give them. Unless you smoke only one kind of wrapper it'll probably be like mixing together the last bits of paint from all the almost empty paint cans.

Like a tobacco suicide.
