As Ive been perusing some sites Ive been in a battle with which to purchase. Ive noticed that there are different lines of the Hoyo Epicures (De Lux, Epicures Especials, Epicure Especials Tubos, Epicure no1, no2, etc...

Any guidance form the CC experienced here? Is there really a difference between the Tubo and non-Tubo? CA reviews say yes but really give no good reviews.
I posted up a poll for an easier visual. You can select up to two.

Thanks for the input!

I can't say, because I've only smoked the HDM Epicure Especials. But they are really tasty at just over the 2 year mark. I bought a cab and have smoked through maybe 8, but I'm already thinking of either more of the Especials or the Epi 2's. I will be interested in the outcome of this poll also. I usually get a little spinney with full strength cigars. That is one reason I like the Especials, tons of flavor and medium strength.

I voted "other", as in "something other than an Epicure". I may be in the minority here, but I've never liked any of them. I find the Epi 1s to have a distinctly sour taste (not sour like citrus, sour like "spoiled"). The Especials aren't much better. So many better cigars out there for the price point.

I've only smoked 1 Epi, and it was the Epi No.2. I really enjoyed it, and placed an order for a full box (if that really means anything since I'm still pretty green when it comes to CCs). Additionally, a buddy talked me into a box split of Epi Especials, and he says they are better than the No.2's. I guess we will see in about 10 days :D. I don't think that you could go wrong with either of these IMHO.

I definitely don't like listening to old people fart.

But the Des Dieux .....now that a very "pleasurable" experience.....

Can't see the poll on tapatalk. Don't like the EE or 2. I like the Epi 1 enough to own a single box that was purchased 4 years ago and won't be opened for 6 more years. I guess I don't care for the Epi's either now that I thing about it. I love the Des Dieux and the 2010's started to shine recently. I do not care for fresh Des Dieux because I know what they turn into with age.

:ROFLMAO:

Love the "du" Hoyos....Des Dieux, du Prince, du Maire, etc. Good call for the old farts!

acc05R1.... Not sure how you can say "you can't go wrong with an Epi Especial" when you haven't ever smoked one yet. See what you think in 10 days, hopefully you like them better than I do. :)

You would be correct. I should've worded that a little better and stated that you probably couldn't go wrong with any of these choices listed, as they obviously meet the flavor profile of the OP. As previously stated though, I'm still new to CCs and haven't smoked enough different ones to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't smoke. Hopefully that clears up my statement from yesterday.

Sorry I can't help give any good opinions, but I'm not a Hoyo fan. I've enjoyed some Des Dieux but just sold a box of nice Epi #2's because they're just not my thing. Would rather spend the money on something I know I like.

Hoping you find those Epi Especials are right in your wheelhouse. Smoke what you like, like what you smoke. :)

Seems that even after all the votes in the thread for the Des Dieux that the Epi #2 is still the crowd favorite.

Here's the rub... I'm still not 100%sure :(
