i want so bad to say this was a good cigar but i just cant. the cigar looks fantastic, cold smell of barnyard and cedar, very soft to the touch almost spongy, i guess this is what a wet cigar would feel like. pre light, nothing i can really pick out taste wise, perfect draw.

first few puffs are very pleasant, thick white smoke almost chewy, caramel and cedar, taste like a PC.. 1/3 in to the cigar the burn began to run down one side, i tried to let it correct it self but it just kept running. taste is very rich, strong cedar and honey or sweet wood if that makes sense, thick heavy smoke. cigar has become full bodied and has a short finish of moist tobacco.. the PLR took a turn for the worst just about 2/3-3/4 down, the taste went to nothing, no more sweetness or cedar just a strong unpleasant tobacco flavor. if i stopped the review at the 2/3 point i would rate the cigar very highly, i don't understand why the cigar went to shit so fast, maybe its just to young or i should have let them sit for a few months.. PLR has lot of potential, i'll revisit them in the spring...

My question I guess is should I pull the trigger? I was really looking forward to purchasing these, but now I'm not sure... What do you think?

I just bought a box of these along with the Edmundo Dantes! I pray that this was just a quirk. It kind of sounds like the tobacco may be young. Let's give it some time.

They are really young cigar and probably should be smoked for about 6 months. Well at least won't show they potential for another 6 months.

Yeah, different bands for the UK release. I believe the Magnificos' bands are a replica of the Por Larranaga bands from the early 1900's.

Nope. All the regional editions are a bit different, thus making it unique to that specific region.
At least I think.

The blend thing I made up, because if it's not true then the whole idea behind regional editions is pointless (at least in my mind). I dunno where I heard about the sizes. Just what I recall from somewhere.

The Magnificos are supposed to represent the discontinued PL Magnums from the 70's. PL hasn't had a robusto size post revolution so the blend will inherently and purposely be different due to the size alone.

Try it after it has been dry boxed 3-5 days. These cigars are way too wet to smoke right now. They have the potential to be nothing short of spectacular
in 3-6 years if you can sit on them that long.
