My wife's aunt Mely is in critical condition in a local hospital and has taken a turn for the worse today. She just turned 80 on 9/11 and is actually quite active for that age.
She fell asleep on Sunday and left some candles burning in the bedroom. This caused a small fire that was caught before alot of damage was done, but left her with a bad case of smoke inhalation. She has been in a coma ever since, but was making good progress the past two days. Unfortunately, this morning her kidneys have begun to fail and the doctors have given a grim prognosis.
So prayers and good thoughts would be appreciated.
I'd also like this to be a reminder as we come into the cooler fall season and we start bringing fire back into our homes (candles, fireplaces, space heaters, etc) ... please remember to take proper precautions and use common sense regarding your family's safety.
