First off I love tatuaje cigars. I have enjoyed many of them and don't mind spending the money on them because I feel they are worth it. But the last 3 of the premium (over $15 per stick) tatuaje cigars I have smoked or tried to smoke over the last six months have been plugged badly to the point they were unsmokable. 2 of them were 09 La Verite Churchill and 1 was the RC 184. It really bums me out because I don't smoke cigars at that price point regularly and I don't seem to encounter the same problem with less expensive tats. The 2013 avion is great as well as the black corona gorda at about half the price. I keep my tupperdor at 69% and I'm not having the same issues with other marcas or less expensive tats. Have any of you encountered this same construction issues with premium tats or am I just having a bad run. Nearly $ 60 dollars for 3 cigars that must be pitched it really troubling to me.

Thanks,

Cojonu

69% is considered by many to be too high.

That said, I also had issues with my Verite churchills, so might have been a consistent issue with that stick.

But, I'd certainly start with reducing your RH to the 65 range.

I agree with this. You may also want to dry box some cigars a couple days before you light them, to see if you notice a difference. Have you noticed the same problem with other smokes from your humi? I've had this happen to me with a couple high of dollar Opus.

If you aren't having problems with other cigars or other tats like you said in your post at 69% then it is not a humidity issue if the cigars seem plugged, it is most likely a construction issue that happens with hand made cigars. Sucks, but it happens from time to time

I know a lot of people think 69% is high, BUT living in Vegas where it is extremely dry, this is where I like to keep my sticks. Also if I encountered a lot of plugged cigars in general I would agree but I rarely have a plugged cigar including less expensive tats. It is interesting that you have had issues with your LVC. We're they plugged or did you have other issues?
