1. GRAB A CALCULATOR. (YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO DO THIS
ONE IN YOUR HEAD)
2. KEY IN THE FIRST THREE DIGITS OF YOUR PHONE
NUMBER (NOT THE AREA CODE)
3. MULTIPLY BY 80
4. ADD 1
5. MULTIPLY BY 250
6. ADD THE LAST 4 DIGITS OF YOUR PHONE NUMBER
7. ADD THE LAST 4 DIGITS OF YOUR PHONE NUMBER AGAIN.
8. SUBTRACT 250
9. DIVIDE NUMBER BY 2

Do you recognize the answer?
Neato! :thumbsup:

I'm sure noone cares, but here's the algebra involved.. pretty basic stuff from middle school..

x = first 3 digits of PhoneNumber
y = last 4 digits of PhoneNumber

The outcome is just your first three digits times 10,000 plus your last 4 digits.. so make their steps equal to the solution..

((((80x+1)*250)+2y)-250)/2 = 10000x+y (here's the formula)

((((80x+1)*250)+2y)-250) = 20000x + 2y (multiplied both sides by 2)

(((80x+1)*250)+2y) = 20000x + 2y + 250 (added 250 to both sides)

((80x+1)*250) = 20000x + 250 (subtracted 2y from both sides)

20000x+250 = 20000x + 250 (multiplied out the 250 * (80x+1) )

20000x = 20000x (subtracted 250 from both sides)

x = x (divided both sides by 20000)

Easy as pie thats how..

wow...got the formula on there...right.

I always liked the one that we did in high school where the end product would be to turn the calculator upside down after all the calculations and questions and it would spell out BOOBLESS.

Childish I know.
