Price increase in August?

In a passing (though probably quite calculated) statement in their most recent e-mail, a well-known vendor wrote "With new prices due in August..."

Someone refresh my memory, is this an annual thing, or an "every once in a while" thing?

Yes, if we see comments from vendors about prices going up it could be an annual thing. But sometimes a vendor will get their prices raised by their distributor, but will choose to "eat" the price increase so they are not raising prices to the customer all the time. There's no magic date when prices go up as not every vendor passes along the increase, but it usually is a yearly thing.

And I will add, this vendor raised their prices just 6 months ago or so as well.

The vendor in question is usually the cheapest out there, and that's their biggest appeal for me. If everyone's increasing their prices and these guys stay the cheapest, then that's fair enough. However, if their prices increase and everyone else stays the same then I'll probably be consolidating my business with the 2 other vendors I use as they let me pick box codes and have better selection.

If you will visit the site in question you will be delighted to see a reduction in price of several items.

Inquiries to a licensed Habanos dealer reveal no increase due,they get several months notice.......

So much for that rumor............

Most Vendors do a price increase every couple of years, as shipping costs from the factory to vendor change.. .
There have been companies who do it yearly, and then there was Perdomo who rolled back prices when SCHIP hit.

Thanks for the info, but I think this thread is referring to sticks found on the ISOM.
