I dunno about you, but when I see a guy on a forum with no avatar, I have a hard time getting to know them. It may be purely my own mental hangup, but the lack of avatar makes me think they're not really planning to be here long, or maybe they just aren't interested in becoming part of the brotherhood. Which is totally ok, if that's you, no worries.

But, if you want to get involved, if you enjoy being here, and if you are planning on sticking around, add an avatar. It'll make getting to you know easier... at least for me! :D

I do agree with this and I know it isn't exactly logical but when there isn't an avatar you tend to think they are new and may not be around awhile.

Great thread Ninja.
I'm a very visual learner, and avatars help me associate the post I'm reading to every thing else that brother has done.
Along those same lines, when someone changes their pic it takes some time to reconnect the dots (but I do enjoy the fun and creativity of switching it up)

I also appreciate when there is a city listed under "Location" as this helps me to differentiate/associate.

ID's and Avatars are a personal thing where the person tends to put some time and thinking into how to express themselves to others....that's what I tend to think about. If I see an ID where there is nothing about it to personalize I get the feeling that they are saying we're not worth the effort ....when we really are.:rolling:

Yeah, always takes me a little to get someones new avatar down as well, but I am easily confused at times anyways.
