In a great trade, Knickerbocker sent me a few extras including a Ramon Bueso corona gorda.

I was intrigued right off the bat, as this was one of the darkest, oiliest wrappers I have ever seen...Just a beauty!

Wrapper scent and cold draw gave up loads of sweet chocolate and earth...

Overall, the flavor profile was complex and ever changing...The notes that stood out were chocolate, espresso and wood, with notes of pepper and tea....Really enjoyable.

Does anyone know any more on these cigars?

Looks like they are available for pre-order at Cigars International as "Genesis...The Project" with a release date in July....No corona gordas :(.

...Very nice price point!

I had a torro a few weeks ago right when they arrived in the mail. I saw promise in them but it seemed to me that the flavors were a bit muddled. Hopefully a little rest will do them good. At the pre-order price from CI they seem like they could be a definite winner. Maybe those that attended cigarfest have more info on these.

I sent you one in our trade too. But I just smoked my first yesterday morning and I got the same out of it that you did. I enjoyed it and will be picking up more.

Too bad there is no CG offering in the line.....The CG was awesome, and my fear is that the other, larger ring gauge/sizes might not translate so well. :/

I definitely sent you a Cain in an aluminum tube, I do have like 6 RBCG's and do not recall sending you any - but when you sent me that PM I thought to myself well maybe I did??? LOL I was packaging four trades at the same time and my brain was totally scrambled because I sent out like 50 sticks and I honestly do not have any idea of who I sent what

I feel really bad not being able to thank the correct person properly....

I could have sworn that the Bueso came out of the same 5 finger bag that contained a Cain...... :/

Hey Clint,

If you liked the CG try the robusto. That's what I'm smoking tonight. :)
Hey, Excel! How are you, man? Hope all is well.

So the robusto is widely available? And were they rolled the same time as the pre-release?
Clint, I'm good brotha. The Robo's are currently available, and I don't know if they were rolled
at the same time as the pre-release. I remember seeing guys post pics of Pre-release sticks
back in March so probably not.

I've smoked through three of the robustos thus far. Not bad at all for $3 a stick. I got the same flavors as you, Clint - with some added sweetness.

I got chocolate, earth, a blast of pepper in the beginning, white pepper danced
in and out throughout most of the smoke. Dark chocolate and cream lingered
on the long finish. Halfway through, cedar came into the profile. the strength
ramped up to full bodied at the halfway point. This cigar burned for about
1:15 minutes. Even though you could tell it was a little green, i can see this
developing into an even better smoke in 3 to 6 months. It is definitely
box worthy!
