Ramon y Ramon/Partaga 150 Special Humidor

My brother found a complete Ramon y Ramon Partagas 150 humidor for sale in northern indiana. The asking price is $3000, but I cannot tell if there is much of an interest in these cigars. He's thinking of picking it up and piecing it out, but I've seen posts saying some people were finding the Ramon y Ramon at bargain prices because people were just selling the stock -- as low as $7-$10

I know the Partagas 150s would be popular, but are the Ramon y Ramone? Is this find an opportunity or fool's gold? I'm tempted to split it with him, but I'm just not sure....

You being pretty new to buying, keep things simple and get more of what you like unless you have $1500 to burn. Just my .02c.

The Partagas stuff is good, but I agree with Steve. Spending 3 grand so early in a cigar buying career is not good. my .02

Its a good find, but if you have never tried the partagas 150's it might not be the best first buy. I like em, but, they are a very light cigar, and it probably wont blow you away. Now if you are into collecting, then by all means have at it. I honestly believe the reason people are selling off all of their partagas 150's is because they are losing their flavor. Every year I tryone from my box, and every year they seem to get lighter and lighter, but hey maybe its just mine, however that seems to be the same opinion as some of my amigos around here. Anyway, there my nickels worth. Good luck with whatever decision you make, and if you do buy it and decide you wanna get rid of a few ramon y ramones I may be game. Cheers!:fencing:

Oh also... The 150's are very fragile, so make sure you inspect them thoroughly before you buy any, because theyve been known to crack easily as the wrappers are 30 some odd years old. Just a heads up!

I'll tell you what, Let one of the FOGs here spend the $3000 for you, on what they sugest, and you'll end uup with 3x the sticks and a better selection. Now to turn a quick profit I don't know if that's a good or bad deal. Just get a c-bid account and have fun.

I have to echo what others have said. It's better to spend your money on some samplers first and get to know what your palate favors (mild, medium, strong..etc..).

Even buying a few boxes of highly rated cigars wouldn't be a bad idea. Purchasing what you've listed would be a bad move, imo.

I always wondered what happened to the Partagas in that humidor. Lmao! What are the odds that I would of ran into this and a fellow BOTL found them and posted a couple years before me. Lol

I honestly don't feel like any cigar is worth that kind of money. It's simply a cigar to be able to have in your collection, but not actually smoke. It's not worth the bragging rights IMO.
