Hey all. Check out this picture below. I'm not sure what year, etc. these different RASS's are from, but they're pretty inconsistent in both appearance and wrapper color.

Well, the picture may not do it total justice, but for example the one on the left is a much darker wrapper color. Not the reddish color I've seen before. The cigar on the rights has a slight box press to it.

Is this normal? Am I being too paranoid?

I have noticed some wrapper variation from box code to box code on ISOMs, but but I have also noticed that the boxes look pretty consistent, I would worry about it if I was buying from a box that had multiple shades in it. I have noticed a few years on a cigar can change the wrapper color slightly also...

The cigars are sorted by color and boxed. It is not unusual to find such color variations, but usually not within the same box. (I'm assuming these were not from the same box)

I have a box of SLR Lonsdales that have wrappers that are almost candela in coloration. The source is legit, and so is the flavor too, so no worries.

Yeppers, I don't ever worry about color differences unless it's the same box and they are very different.

When I get home I will post a good link that describes the process of choosing wrappers. I believe there are like 60 different shades. Also one could be from a dress box of 25 and would be pressed. The other could be from a cabinet of 50 and would be much more round.

nothing to worry about, wrapper shade is differnet from box to box, also the reason one of the cigars has a slight press is cause its probably from a dress box and the other two a cabinet.

Seriously though, wrapper color varies from box to box. Figure out which shade you like and ask your vendor for that the next time you order.

EMS - Dark Wrappers English like dark wrappers.
AMS - Claro (Lite) Wrappers Americans liked lite wrappers.

EMS present new meaning to me is a marketing gimic as i think every vendor gets great cigars the key is he has to pick them for you and make sure it would be one he would pick up and smoke himself.

Also there is over 60 + wrapper shades coming out of Cuba and you will also find sometimes different color variations in the same box.

Most will be on the bottom and not the top of dress boxes not by much but you can see a difference.

Cabinets you will find in side the wheel there are sometimes different color variation but not by much.

Again if they don't have a lot of the same shade wrapper they will compensate hey this is Cuba.
