The ELs used to say the year a long time ago. Including one of the first partagas.

Not an expert, but I think he's right. I was able to find a few pics through Google search and none of them have the date on the band. Later EL do, but not that one.

Jere is correct. The year was not on the first release of EL's. At least not the ones that I had of Partagas. In fact from the looks of it from Trevors site they didn't start putting the year on EL bands until 2001. So I'm going to say you have a fugazi!

I have a few of the EL Partagas piramides. Unfortunately, you have a fake. No year was printed on the 2000 ELs.

So over the holidays I treated myself and bought 2 Partagas 160's. Haven't smoked either yet but hoping they live up to the hype. I paid 20 a piece. Probably wouldn't ever spend more then that per stick.
