I just purchased a box of Punch Petit Coronas Del Punch with a box code of URG MAR11. The main reason for this purchase is because I have two friends getting married in October and I wanted to have a box to share at their weddings.

My question is do you think these cigars will be ok to smoke then considering their very recent manufacture? I've never experenced a box with such a recent box code and I'm hoping that they won't be in a really bad sick period. What do you guys think?

I've included a stock photo(not mine and not of my particular box) for those who like pictures. :tiphat:

They'll be fine to smoke. Ideally you want to let them have at least a couple weeks in your humidor since most cigars come in a little over humidified. Other than that they will be fine. Most cigar smokers don't need an aged cigar to smoke and wouldn't know the difference anyway.

Hopefully they'll be dried out a bit. I actually bought them from a BOTL on another site and he said he's had them a few weeks.

When you get the chance, let us know how they are smoking.

I hear the recent PCdP's are smoking well. I've been thinking about getting a box. I'm sure they will be fine.

Well my box arrived today but I may have some concerns and wanted to know what you guys thought about it. Here are some pictures:

The box code is ink but the rest is burned in like it should be

As you can see, one cigar is shorter than the others

Here they are with all the cigar's feet touching the bottom

The shield part of the seal looks like it isn't perfectly on the corner of the box, which was the first thing to concern me. It appears like this seal is on top of a second seal, with the second seal being a smaller size. The ID number on the end of the seal is cut off but I know that this happens a lot with some of the vendors out there so it doesn't concern me too much. I'll have to look at the seal again but I think I saw the microprinting and I will have to break out my UV light later to check the blacklight visible watermark on the seal. By the way, if that blacklight watermark seal is there, does that mean the seal is legit? I don't know if the blacklight watermark has been faked yet.

The hologram looks ok but it appears like there was a wrinkle made in the seal when it was applied.

So what do you guys think? The slip of paper was in there when I got it even though I didn't show it in any of the pictures. I also noticed that the wood that makes up the box(under the paper covering) appears to be a veniered composit wood instead of being solid planks but this is my first box order of ISOM's that wasn't in a SLB so I don't know if that is just how they make them.

I got these from a BOTL on another forum and he has good trader history so while I don't know what source he bought these from, I would assume that they are legit. I just wanted to run some of my concerns by you guys because the length issue with one of the cigars and the label not being placed with the middle of the shield on the edge of the box made me wonder if the box was legit.

Thanks for any comments you might have! :cbig:

Was the box sealed when you got it, or was it opened already? That shorter cigar is pretty odd as it is substantially shorter than the others. I was wondering if the box was already open if the seller put another cigar in the box to sell as full.

I wouldn't worry about the wrinkled seal, it happens. The serial numbers are almost always cut off from grey market sellers, no big deal. Not sure what to say about the Habanos seal on the top left, was the end cut off?

It's hard to say for sure without knowing the source.

Honestly, I think they are real. First and foremost... who fakes Punch PCDC when you can fake Cohibas or Montes? No one. Second, all of your concerns other than the one short cigar are things that seem typical of grey market cigars. I have seen all of these things on boxes that I am 100% positive are legit.

Box was not sealed. I guessing the seller opened the box when he got it a few weeks ago. Which end of the habanos seal are you referring to?

The Habanos sticker on the top left corner of the box... maybe the seller just cut off the left end when he opened the box, I wouldn't worry. Like stated above, who fakes these cigars anyway? I wouldn't worry...
