Apologies in advance if dumb question.

Finally researched enough to feel comfortable pulling the trigger on a box of CCs, having a hard time deciding what to start off with.

My current favorites are La Imperiosa, Padron 1964 natural, and Partagas (NC of course) black label.

Im eyeing either the H Upmann connoisseur #1, Partagas Serie D 4, Bolivar Belicosos Finos, or the Rey Del Mundo Choix Supremes.

Does my favorite three give you guys enough of an idea of something that I'm likely to enjoy from the CC world or nah? Doesn't have to be any of the CCs mentioned, just had those in my sights based on reviews/comments on here, but I can't discern flavors enough yet to know what I would like based off of the descriptions I've been reading of the CC flavors.

Any guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks!

The Boli is the powerhouse of the four, and will have the most punch to it. The NCs you listed are all fairly full-bodied. It's not going to be quite near those three, but it will have the most flavor of the CCs you listed, and is actually the CC I typically recommend to people who love the full-bodied maduros and are just dipping their toes in the CC world.

Any are a fine choice. The ERDM is an excellent cigar, but probably the furthest away from the full-bodiedNCs you've mentioned.

Well you certainly have picked some of my favorites. I will say that the ERDM CS is a bit more subtle than the other 3 but it's one of my all time favorites. Upmann's are better with a bit of age on them. Based on what you describe I would probably recommend either the Bolivar or Partagas.

based on your current NC preference and guessing that you're going to want to smoke these young, without aging, i would say the PSD4 or BBF. They have nice earthy/leather flavors and are smoking well young.

<electric slides back into thread>

Actually I was under the impression I should wait at least a year before touching them (okay I was gonna smoke ONE right away just to say I smoked a real cuban you got me) which was fine since I ordered waaaaaay too many NC samplers few months ago and will take me long to get through them BUT I'm glad you mentioned that I hadn't even considered possibly enjoying them that soon!

You guys rock!

quick follow up question for the domestic homies, if you track your incoming goodies and they already made it to a new york USPS office does that mean it already cleared customs or not necessarily?

also, if you find yourself getting up 10-15 minutes ahead of your alarm clock for few days straight with tracking a package being your first waking thought, then rushing to your PC to do so before you can even fully open one eye, is it time to seek help?

Haha that was my exact reaction with my first few cc purchases. I believe the first NY is customs (says ISC), then when it gets to a 2nd facility it has cleared (for me that's always Flushing). I think this because a few have taken several days from first saying the ISC and then saying Flushing, but I could be wrong.

I also will add to the list for the future a suggestion of Ramon Allones. I have similar NC preferences and have enjoyed Partagas and Bolivars, but RASS and RASCC have been some of my favorites in my relatively limited experience in CC's and they have some similarities to those NC's in my opinion. They are also relatively reasonably priced and great without much age.
