Recs similar to Prensado but that burn decently

I've tried a dozen or so AB Prensados from a variety of B and M but 90% haven't burned correctly - however, I love the flavor of these: can anyone make some recommendations for similar tasting sticks? I'm tired of getting burned (or not burned) by the ABs.

I've had trouble with fresh ones that have shipped from CI and CB, but had better luck with sticks that have rested for awhile. I highly recommend stashing a few and coming back to them later. They're a good stick when they don't burn wonky. Its been awhile since I smoked one so I don't remember the exact profile of that, but I'd suggest the EPC La Historia or Crowned Heads Jericho Hills as possibilities.

The weird thing about the sticks being wet is that I got them from 3 different B and M who I've bought many sticks from in the past with no issues - maybe a factory problem back then

Only if you're talking about 3 years ago.

I've been to many shops and would only smoke out of one or two because the most shops over humidity the cigars.

I've learned over the past few years to purchase from my local b&m but smoke the sticks I bring with. Depending on the season in MN the humidors can fluctuate 15% humidity or so. Just like I tell my toddler a little rest goes a long way.

I don't subscribe to CA anymore, so I missed that article. I'm really impressed by his honesty about there being a problem and I do hope they've fixed it. I haven't bought anything from Alec Bradley in probably two years. In my eyes, they're starting to turn into a Rocky Patel type company, that puts out too many different lines.

I dunno man.. even AB I've ever had has canoed. Including ones I had stashed for over a year, and ones I had way before Prensado was ever released.

Grabbed a prensado at store #4 - we'll see how it goes - hope prevailing over experience

Smoked a Robusto tonight. Had one touch up at the halfway point. Other than being cold out, enjoyed it.

I have actually enjoyed many churchills of the AB Prensado without issues and always have some on hand. I don't remember the last time I had one that burned bad, but I'm sure I have. I have purchased most, if not all from Famous or their affiliates and they sit in my wineador for at least a month before smoking one so I'm sure that has something to do with it. If you enjoy them they can be had for a nice price. I purchased some a couple of month ago for less than $4 a piece.

Well, had the one Churchill I bought yesterday. First third burned perfectly, had 2 touch ups in the remainder but the flavor profile I like was present and consistent with the ones I bought in 2012-13.
