This information has been collected by others on various Internet sites and I thought it would be nice to consolidate it here for all of us to have as a reference.

Habanos has started a trend of allowing their distributors in various parts of the world to request a specific cigar to be released for their region of the world. Most times this results in a new cigar, other times it is a re-issue of a discontinued cigar or a tweaked version of an existing cigar.

Most times the quantities are very limited and the cigars are only sold in the region or country the were issued to. Some say this exclusivity will last two years but none of the 2004 releases are available worldwide to date.

Most times these REs will have special stickers on the box and a second band denoting the region of the release. (See attachment for band)

This is a list of all the Regional Editions issued to date as well as those scheduled for release next year.

2004
Germany/5th Avenue - Vegas Robaina - Jubilaums - LCdH second band
Germany/LCdH Koln - Bolivar - Gold Medal - LCdH second band

AFAIK 2004 was the first year of the REs if I missed anything or there were previous REs before this year please post it and I will add/edit the list.

2005
Italy - Punch - Superfinos - Edicion Regional
Italy - Ramon Allones - Seleccion Suprema - Edicion Regional
Switzerland - Ramon Allones - Eminencia - Edicion Regional
Switzerland - Punch - Robustos - Edicion Regional

France - Bolivar - Libertadores - Exclusivo Francia
France - Juan Lopez - Obus - Eclusivo Francia
Germany - Por Larranaga - Lonsdales - Exclusivo Alemania
Germany - Bolivar - Colosales - Exclusivo Alemania
Italy - Punch - Superfinos re-issued - I have not seen one...assuming Exclusivo Italia

I'm not sure the '04 Jubes/BGMs were actually an RE release. IMO, they need to have the band or just be specific to that region for a while, ie. the RA Beli. But that's just my $.02 on the subject. Great compilation there.

I agree Cliff.

The only reason I left then up there is because they were only available in one specific region of the world.

It's almost like these were REs before REs were even thought of.

We have the REs we have now because of these two IMO.

One thing I have noticed is that 2005's REs had a generic Edicion Regional on the second band and this year's (2006) REs had Exclusivo "region or country" similar to the attachement in my first post.

A double robusto PL? Be still my heart...

I recently picked up some of the PL lonsdales though I haven't tried them yet. But the PC's are a favorite of mine.
