So the owner of one of my local B&Ms and I were chatting about his trip down to the DR. He was on his way to a very special meeting, and his hosts had sent a cab and a package of cigars to smoke on the way to his destination. One of them was this Regius "White Label," which has been blended by Manuel Quesada and was reportedly manufactured at the Placencia factory. He was so stoked on it that he order a few boxes for the store and has since been recommending them. I am smoking my first one... not bad. Loads of vitamin N though. Holy cow!

Anyone else light one yet?

I had the Nicaraguan version, haven't had the Dominican, the nic was medium flavorful but a kind of spice nutmegy type flavor that I just couldn't take only got about half way through. Was well constructed and smoked fine, just didn't care for the flavor. Let us know how the Dominican one is.

Touch of spice on the front, and then slightly sweet with hints of leather and maybe some nutmeg. Well made, heavy in the hand, smoked well, but had so much of the nic-kick that I had to take it slow... it went out on me in the final third, but I think that had more to do with my pace than the construction.

Hmm sounds good, the Nicaraguan sounded good too tho, ill have to get another and give it a second shot, maybe just got my hands on a dud, or maybe its just a flavor that's not for me, glad you enjoyed it, besides overdosing on vitamin N.

i have liked the black label coronas i have burned, and the one black robusto. to me it was really full and rich, with a creamy texture. haven't burned enough to get a full read, though.

Blacks are a nice change of pace for me from my usual ligas and tats. I prefer the lancero like ones more then the robusto. Good smoke output, solid medium, I associate the flavors along the headley grange range--noob review :)

Mine had a black band, and then a secondary white band that said "blended by Don Manuel Quesada"

So is that the white, or black band you guys are talking about? Mine had a thick creamy texture to it as well.

The white label was blended by Manuel Quesada and is made at the Matasa factory in Dominican. The original black label is made at Placensia's factory in Nica. The black label Nica version isn't quite as strong and was originally blended for the European market to be a similar alternative to the Cuban dominated market. The White label was made more for the U.S. market and is blended to be a bit stronger and spicier than the original. The owner of Regius was in town a couple of weeks back so we had some time to sit down and chat about the different lines.
