Hi fellow BOTLer's,

Recently, I have created another addiction. RC helicopters and planes. Just wondering if there are any other guys out here that have the same problem. If possible show off some of the "craft" you have....

I still have a Kyosho nitro gas off road truck, but it's been sitting for probably 15 years.

That thing was fast! I think we clocked it at 40 MPH, and it would just spin the tires for yards at a time in loose dirt or wet pavement. The oil dampened suspension meant you could hold the truck at arm's length and drop it onto the ground and nothing would break or get damaged.

That thing was lots of fun to play with :)

As a kid growing up our neighborhood hero loved flying model airplanes. I fondly remember going out to the field with him and a bunch of other kids to watch him. Always wanted to get one but never have.... Always looked like a great time. Enjoy.

I temporarily got into the whole RC plane deal. My buddy got me involved, but I just don't have the time or the money to devote to it. Enjoyed the heck out of flying when I could. If only I had unlimited time and resources, lol.

Along that lines, if anyone knows of anyone who wants some slightly used RC equipment, let me know, I need to move it. I've got a Futaba 7CH transmitter and receiver and a nice battery charger. I have a bunch of other stuff as well but those are the high dollar items.

Im more of a ground guy when it comes to RCs. I have a Nexstar with an OS engine(forgot which one) but I never got too big into the whole planes thing. RC trucks and buggies are my thing. I have a complete FLM/IRC HPI Savage, savage truggy, Mugen MBX-5, Brushless/lipo Losi Mini-t, and a beater mini-t. I used to race a lot and did fairly good, just got out of the hobby about 2 years ago but I still have all of them collecting dust. If you think cigars are an expensive hobby you have not done RC. I have spent over $10,000 in the 5 years I was into the heavily.

That's pretty cool!

I always loved putting together the kits. I forgot how long it took to put together my Kyosho gas truck, but I remember really loving every minute of it! Plus you had a great understanding and familiarity of the mechanical aspects of it whenever you needed to replace parts.

I used to be. I spent more time and money with the build than actually running the rigs.

The problem wasn't very apparent, until I built a 1:18 scale Mini T that ended up costing me $600. Once you go aluminum, you can't go back. At the time I had 6 1/10ths that could have fell victim to my aluminum sickness.

The fastest electric I built was an M18, full carbon build, a Mamba 8k on Li-Po.

I got out before I developed the problem Nick currently has!

I started out with RC planes...have a few parts left over and one complete plane, just sitting there, pretty much ready to fly (Stryker F-27, from what I recall). It just seems to end in disaster for me...LOL...something about high winds and "maybe it's too windy to fly? nahhhhh!" equalled CRASH!

I still have/fly a little indoor RC Heli (the Blade, I think?). It's pretty tough and it's fun. I have a TALL living room with a loft, so the ceiling height is two stories, alot of flying room inside.

I have a Traxxas Slash 1/10 scale stadium truck that came brushed and I wore out the motor, so just converted it to brushless....it SCOOTS!!

Just got this for Christmas, a Traxxas Summit. This thing is a BLAST!!! It behaves very much like the real thing, I drive it just like I used to...hehehehe

First hop-up/mod-repair, I bent the push rods (go figure!?!?!?! LOL) and replaced them with this nice tubular red aluminum units:
