I've smoked probably 7 - 8k cigars. Without even thinking, when I get close to the band, I hold the cigar in my right hand with the ash pointing away, feel for the band overlap with my left index finger, and peel it off with my left index finger and thumb.
Yesterday morning I was smoking my first in many years, a DE Tabak Especial (boring, mild smoke BTW). When I went to remove the band, I couldn't find the overlap. Switched hands, and found it with my right index finger. The band was wrapped backwards from every other cigar I can remember. I checked a couple others I had, and the bands where wrapped the same way. I don't know if this is the way Tabak Especial bands are done, or if a new employee just happened to wrap them wrong on the ones I have.
Anyone else remember a cigar brand with the band wrapped backwards from the way 99.9% of them are?
