The next cigar up from the Habanos Festival is the Bolivar Emiratos. This is the 2010 Regional Edicion cigar for the United Arab Emirates. The cigar is a sublimes size, measuring 6 1/2 by 54. The cigar is fairly oily, with a rustic looking wrapper (although you cannot really tell from my pictures) that has some noticeable veins. The construction is pretty solid, with pretty good seams and a well formed cap.

Upon cutting with my Palio, the flavor pre-light is of tobacco leaf, but with a little spice. The first third of the Emiratos is meaty, fairly tangy, with some spice on the back-end. The burn was good, and the ash was a dirty gray color.

Moving into the second third, the cigar maintained much of the same flavor as the first third. As it burned, it became more and more muddled. Again, just like the Cohiba 1966 I reviewed, I know that this cigar was fresh and smoking well (from what I was told) during the Festival. Unfortunately, this one too could be getting sick.

The last third indeed turned sour, and ultimately made it difficult to smoke. I am normally one that will smoke a cigar till it burns my finger tips, but I cannot do it with this one. There was well over an inch, almost an inch-and-a-half left when I set it down.

Again, I would be aware that this cigar could be sick, much like the Cohiba 1966 might be as well. I wish this review could have been different, but it is was it is. Overall, this cigar lasted 1:30.

Wouldn't you like to know?
I have great hope for these. The last one I smoked the flavours seemed muted but the smell was incredible. I think these will turn into something fantastic.
