A bunch of BOTLs converged on the City of Chicago for a birthday bash for one GreedyCapitalist. He got smacked around pretty hard by everyone, but he brought ammo of his own (even though we tried to prevent it). Well, he smacked me pretty hard with a CGR. I thought that it would make a great smoke for my birthday last month...

The CGR has a slightly oily wrapper, with a few small veins. After a cut, the prelight draw is of clean tobacco, with a little sweetness. Upon lighting, the first third of the cigar has a great mix of cashew, honey and nutmeg. There is a light flavor of graham cracker mixed within. The burn was fairly straight, with a light gray ash.

The second third of the CGR changed up quite a bit. The flavor was bready, with nutmeg and cinnamon. Very well balanced flavor. The burn wasn't perfectly straight, but would catch up. The ash still gray, but a little darker than before.

The final third changed the main flavor again. Although it still had cinnamon and nutmeg for secondary flavors, it's main flavor was that of dry leaves. It was a good combination, not one that detracted from the smoke.

I was amazed that this cigar only lasted an hour and fifteen minutes for me. I wasn't puffing fast, and didn't have to touch up really at all.

What a great smoke!

Great review, I love that cigar. Just waiting for my other son to graduate from high school so we can have a party and I can have my second one. July 2012 should be awesome.

Best regards, tony

I immediately buried my box after smoking one soon after getting them; I think that these need some major time before they become anywhere close to their potential. (Then again, I don't feel that the Sublimes are near ready yet either...)
