First, GO BLACKHAWKS!

Alright, I'm Rob - a total newbie when it comes to cigars. The first cigar that I actually enjoyed was just over a year ago when I was taught how to properly smoke one: do not buy a cheap stogie, light it with a Zippo and try to inhale. Good lesson! Since then, I've learned a lot and am looking to learn a lot more. It seems that for every question I get an answer to, two more questions arise. And I think that's pretty cool.

I just built my first Tupperdor. Actually, that's not accurate… I am almost finished building my first Tupperdor. Everything is in place except for the hygrometer, which arrives tomorrow. Then it will be ready to start filling. Hopefully with a box of my current fav, Fuente's Hemingway.

Other stuff? I'm a married father of two, in my mid 40s, and a professional commercial photographer.

Finally, let me proactively apologize for the dumb questions that I know I'll be asking and thank you all in advance for the advice I (hopefully) will be getting.

Cheers!

Wow, thanks for such a warm welcome!

For you folks in the area, where do you usually buy your cigars from? A local B&M or online? Always appreciative of recommendations.

A shop called burning leaf use to be a huge hangout for about 20 of us here. He's opening another smoking lounge right on 59 in Naperville at fox valley mall. Jamal the owner is a great person but terrible business owner. Not the biggest "go getter" when it comes to time lines. He carries a big selection. Also has a store in Plainfield on rt 59. For now a site sponsor can hook you up with great deals and service. Welcome to the Botl Rob!

Go Hawks.

I'm also relatively new to cigars. Any dumb question you ask will undoubtedly be one i also want to ask... so I will consider it "throwing yourself on the grenade for me"... so thanks in advance.
To answer your follow up question.... personally, I buy mostly online. I try to support my local B&M's. But online deals are often too good to pass up. I do keep an eye on Binny's sales though.

Welcome.

I try to support my local B&Ms, especially at events, but there are some amazing deals online and I snag them up on occasion.
