My wife's brothers are in the U.S. on a vacation and on their way home today. It donned on me that they don't smoke so I figured they could pick up some cigars for me. So... I quckly scramble online to look up some NCs that I hope they can find. But, really, I have no idea what I'm even asking for. So, I randomly told them to look for:

Tatuaje Havana VI Hermosos
Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label Demi Tasse

They're in Minot now and there doesn't appear to be much for cigar shops there... I wonder what I'll get! :cbig:

Having spent some quality time in North Dakota lately I can verify that B&M's are few and far between and that when you do find them they don't have the really "good stuff" on hand. CAO's, Oliva's, low end A.Fuentes and other mid level brands are pretty available but I haven't found any Liga Privadas, Tatuajes or Ilusiones yet in my search of North dakota B&Ms.

I was in Grand Forks on Wednesday and couldn't find even one good cigar shop (lots of white owls and dutch masters). :frownno: I won't be hitting Minot and Wiilliston until the week of July 9th so I don't have any receommendations for you there. Let me know if they are going to Jamestown or Bismarck though and I can send you info on a couple of shops that I found. Sounds like they are headed North though so I'm guessing they already missed the boat on Bismarck.

Bah... they were in Bismarck but I never thought to send them a list until today. I told them to try Great Plains Smoke Shop, Don Rey Cigars and Discount Tobacco. Doesn't sound promising and now I feel bad about sending people in blind who know even less than I do... and that ain't much!

No love in Minot. Sounds like they hit all those places I found and came up empty. No boxes, mostly singles. Oh well I guess that means I save a couple hundred for another time. But, to celebrate my failure I had a nice Petit Tat Reserva while watching the kids in the pool. Thanks for the tip on Tobacco Row. I think my wife is heading down for Christmas shopping in October/November. I may send her on a mission.

Tobacco Row isn't going to carry any of those 3 you listed. You're probably stuck with General and Altadis stuff from most B&Ms there unfortunately. NoDak isn't quite the boutique hotspot. If they pass through the Twin Cities they'll probably have a lot more luck.

As far as the Twin Cities, Tobacco Grove in Maple Grove and Burn in Burnsville will have what you are looking for but due to high MN taxes you will pay the price. At least you will be able to get it.

Bringing up this old, dead horse again. The wife and some ladies are heading to Bismarck in the fall sometime, so I'll probably send them to Tobacco Row. Since the 3 random picks I mentioned above likely won't exist there, what should I be looking for? Suppose I could always call them and get an inventory breakdown, but I prefer the "no talkin' to nobody" approach! :eyepoke:
