Looking to buy for Concealed Carry. Anyone own or shot one. Looking for any info, good and bad. Also interested in any other small lightweight carry guns you would recommend. Thanks.

Gun looks and feels nice for what it is. But, I've learned my lesson the hard way... I stay away from Ruger semi-autos now. Their way older guns built like tanks were different. But today, most of what they put out isn't worth money.

How small and lightweight are you looking for? How do you intend to carry it? It's hard to make recommendations for such a broad question.

I will echo what Mwlabel said about Rugers. Their auto loaders suck as of lately. The LC9 is a terrible gun from my experience. The one i shot jammed all the time.

Like Mwlabel said, tell us a little more of what your looking for

Yeah I've heard nothing but complaints about the LC9. I've never handled one before but have never been too impressed with ruger. I have a walther pps 9mm that I carry. You could also look into the smith and Wesson bodyguard 380. My buddy just picked one up and I think I like it better than my pps!

Thanks for the replies. I am looking for a lightweight carry in the pocket type. I have heard good and bad about the LC9. After what you guys say..I will look elsewhere for sure. Also looking at the S&W .38 Special 5 shot revolver. Thanks again.

To be honest, the lcp that I have for a backup or a last ditch mouse gun works well for a pocket pistol. For some reason the 380 works well with the design. When they bumped it up to a 9mm it just effed everything up.

Would I fully trust my life to my LCP, no. Would I like to have another gun stashed in my pocket in case my primary runs dry, absolutely.

The LCP disappears in a pocket, almost too well since I often forget its there. It can be had pretty cheap on Budsgunshop.com every now and again

I currently carry a glock 26 in a crossbreed or blackhawk holster and a p32 in my pocket. Next I'm looking at a full size 1911 for the range and maybe a Sig P238.

I wouldn't sleep on a revolver either.

For a pocket gun, you've got loads of options.

Small j-frame revolvers in your size, weight, and caliber of choice.
Sub-compacts like the glock 26, kahr pm9, etc
My least favorite, but still possible... small 380s such as Kel-Tec P3at. (I prefer my guns to be 9 or bigger, though modern .380 ammo is relatively decent).

I'd suggest renting as many small revolvers and sub-compacts as possible. Tiny guns are hard to shoot. They're even harder to shoot if you hate the way it feels, handles, etc.

If you're interested in the LC9, I believe that the Kel-Tec PF9 is quite similar but gets better reviews. IIRC, there is a side-by-side comparsion/shoot-out somewhere on YouTube.
