Okay, since Wade wants to talk about rum, what's a good place to start? I haven't actually had any rum in quite a while, but I used to enjoy Captain Morgan on ice. Which types of rum are best with a cigar?

Not Captain Morgan lol sorry, I could never enjoy that stuff. Other than that smart ass remark I am not really of much help when it comes to rum.

For a spiced sweet rum on the rocks you cant go wrong with Ron Zacapa 23.

Don Zacapa is one of the finest rums out there. Try Zaya also, its a nice 12 year old from Guatamala... For mojitos, try Flor de Cano, Mount Gay's Light, Orinco, 10 Cane (My favorite) or Montecristo.

For a sweet rum, go ith Appleton's from Jamaica. It's all i buy. I've heard great things about 10 cane, especially for mojitos, but i cn't find it.

My go to drink that gets me effed up in a hurry...appletons and diet coke. You can literally put as much rum in it as you want and it still tastes good. After 2 lightining bolts that taste like candy i'm feeling pretty righteous.

I am an appletons fan as well, as a mixer, but if you are drinking it strait I have to say Ron Zacapa 23 is far superior, IMHO. My go to rum is One Barrell.

Damn bunch of Alkys!!

Asher, did they ever chach that thief?
No, I haven't heard anything. The neighborhood stopped by a couple days after the incident to find out what had happened, since he was off duty that day. He told me he'd check into the license plate number that was possibly linked to the burglar, but that's the last I heard of it.

At this point, there's nothing to be done anyway. The cops didn't get any useable prints off of the TV or the doorknob, and I probably couldn't positively ID the guy by now. I figure he'll get caught for something else sooner or later, though.

Appleton X/V is my go to Rum. With the aging in oak barrels, has a great rum flavor but reminds me that I also need some scotch.
