What are you experiences with this cigar? I have smoked 2, the first was tighter than a jailhouse ... The second is a stick a received from John (jmatkins), smoking it right now infact, is just incredible! I'm just savoring every second of it.

I've read that when they're on it's prefection, but many in a box are off. So I've seen some good combo deals on these and wondering if it's worth it, or would I be risking a lot of plugged or off cigars in a couple boxes, and waste my money.

If they are consistent I'd be all over it like white on rice.

That seems to be the problem with cc's *sigh*
Well some are worse than others.

I've never had a plugged Party Short, nor a plugged Trini Reyes. I'm sure it happens with these, but the norm is pretty consistent. I've heard that the Principe is pretty inconsistent. So I guess what I'm asking is how is the current production, getting better / more consistent or still 50/50 plugged.

The production I'm looking at is EMA OCT 07, any experience with these, anyone?

I've experienced more tight rolls with cc's than it seems all other brands combined, however the SCDLH El Principe has never let me down. I've gone through several boxes and they're one of my go to short smokes.

I love them. I recently gave one away at the herf and I believe Evans Enjoied it thouroughly as well. I really want to try the Muralla vitola. At 7x54 that looks like a 2 hour smoke and I know it's just full of flavor.

I'm not a fan of the El Principe myself, I prefer a Party Short.

In reference to tight draws, cubans in general let me down alot more than cigars from any other country. I've never once had a plugged Padron, but I had a plugged RyJ Ex #4 just the other day. It's just one of those things, unfortunately. I hear it's getting better though.

Agreed, I've had my share of tight ISOMs as well. The specifics about personal experience with the ElP is what I was after, thank you. Can you say if this is from a specific box code, or just all over you've had good experience with them.

The reason why I ask, my first experience with an ElP was less than memorable, so I pretty much wrote them off. After todays ElP, I am reconsidering this stick.

I've yet to hear of a tight or plugged '07. I like the ElPs, think they are a great stick. I can't see how you could go wrong with them.

Well I just smoked a single I purchsed the on Tuesday and it was unbelievable. I had no problems with it and the flavors were awesome. I am not sure about the box code, but I know it was an 07 production
Same here, the one I had today really blew my socks off. It ended far too quickly.

One can hardly judge a stick good or bad by a single stick or two. Box splits or 5ers would be a good alternative to buying an entire box.

Great small smoke, like the Shorts, packs a lot of flavor. Young ones can be a tad inconsistant, when they are, set em down for a year or so. Well worth the wait.

I totally agree, and for the price these are going for, it seems worth while to pick some up and give them a fair shake, but not if the group said, "they're real inconsistent".
