Its starting to go up too 100°+. I was thinking about an order but am I taking more of a chance with beetles because of the heat?

More of a chance yes, just expect them carefully when you get them, and if you find it necessary freeze them. It's pretty hot here up north as well, was 92 yesterday and 110 in the sun. Those brown UPS trucks heat up like an oven.

I've ordered in the dead of AZ summer before and never had a problem...as long as its not sitting in the sun for the whole day you shouldn't have an issue.

I still quarantine my new orders for a week or so, just to be safe, but I've never had any issues.

As long as you don't leave them on sitting on your porch all day, you'll be fine.

Down here, it's 75+ for 8 1/2 or nine months outta the year, and I don't know anyone hat's had a problem. Still a good idea to quarantine/settle for a few weeks, but that's true no matter the circumstances of purchase, imo.

Best of luck.

i usually put them in a ziplock with humi for a couple of days before putting them in the wine fridge, just so there isn't a rapid temperature shock

outside of that, haven't had any problems

I do 1 day in fridge, 3 days in freezer, 1 day back in fridge, 1 day on counter outside of humi in tupperware... then in the humi. I like to be safe.

Make that 3 times I do everything this way now as I was bombed sticks earlier this year with beetles. I am not playing around now.
