I bought a few 5ers from a online store an one if them was some nat sherman anglers. I noticed one has some stains on the band an was stuck inside the cello. My question is what is it an should I keep it or pitch it. It dosent have anything on yhe actual cigar it self just the band. It dosent look like mold to me more like stains. Can anyone let me know what it is? Thanks for any info.1406497973239.jpg1406498033286.jpg

Stuck in the cello is not necessarily a big deal, those stains are a problem and I would pitch it, IMO it looks like water damage

Ok thanks, I didn't think of water damage. The other 4 look good an don't have any stains like that one. Hopefully the others will be fine. Thanks

Stuck in cello is a humidification issue, some bands use different types of ink, and they can react with water to create a "rust" effect and then "oxidize" and create that green color, I would be weary of the others, but with out a color damage you may just "dry box" the first one that you smoke

So

If it was me I would not buy from that source again as the "green" was clearly visible when they picked it to be shipped, I don't do much on line cigar shopping due to this "lack of service" as I would describe it

Could the oil from the cigar create the stain? I was informed of this a while ago with some old macanudos that were in individual coffins. I posted pics... .?

Based on the color and the band stuck in the cello, I would think water damage, but others can chime in as well

This was my first time buying from this place an it will be my last. I try to buy as much as I can from my local b&m because of stuff like this.

Could the stains be from over humidification? I've heard some of these places keep their cigars wet, so they don't dry out during shipping. I know that I've gotten cigars that where so wet they where un-smokable OTT, but where fine after a few weeks of rest.

Good that they stepped and are replacing them. Stick with our sponsors and you won't have these issues.
