There's an individual selling 2 boxes of what are supposedly "Siglo VI's" near me. It's on a local website similar to craigslist. They're asking $350 per box and claim that the boxes are sealed and arrived from Cuba last week. No details on how.

I have limited knowledge on CC's and am curious if this price is good, and whether or not this is something worth chasing down to validate authenticity. I have not seen pics but supposedly they are available. Just wanted to do a gut check here to see if this is even worth my time.

Thanks Brothers!

Ask for box dates and serial numbers and then verify through Habanos.com. Since the boxes are sealed, you won't be able to look at and smell cigars, so serial numbers and box dates are all you have. Go to hardware store and pick up a mini black-light flashlight. They're like $6. Ask selller if you can check Cuban seal under black-light in a dark room, or closet. It should look like this:

They sell for $550+ on the Internet and some guy locally is selling for $350. Does that sound right to you? Likely hood of them being legit is about zero.

Thanks guys. I looked around on the internet and saw prices from 220-550, so I was unsure if this was a "too good to be true" price or not. I'll let this sleeping dog lie.

Thanks!

Typical for me I'd $188 for 10ct which I recently ordered. $270 for 15ct tubo which I bought awhile back and $474 for 25ct which I have not ordered. The extra dough is worth peace of mind and limited risk

Well I don't intend to pursue this, but I was sent some pics.

For your discerning review......

Those are real boxes, seal is applied properly. Both from same factory. I see serial numbers on Cuban Seal. See if you can get a read on that serial number and have seller send it if not, then enter it at habanos.com. They look real. I repeat, there is a good chance those are the real deal.

disagree, too many red flags in my opinion, even if the boxes are real it doesnt mean the cigars are... which he hasnt shown any pics of yet as well

Those guys are busy busy bees, I don't know much but they look alright, ask if you can inspect them if you meet up and take a close look at the caps and overall construction especially the foot of the cigar.

Boxes do look pretty legit. As others have said, hold out for a close look at the cigars inside. I'd bet there are a few guys here that would take a shot on them.

--edit-- Though when I input the code on habanos.com it came back with:
Warning
Code not registered for Habanos S.A. Please, check again that you selected the correct format for the stamp.

They're fakes then most likely.

Thank you all for the replies. I wasn't searching for CC's but do occasionally search locally for "cigar" and see what turns up.

What does a box of these cost in Cuba? I'm curious how a person would set their price point if they thought they truly had some real ones that were brought in by some means other than an online, proven supplier.

My guess is that this seller thinks they have the genuine article.
