and it was ok but not mind blowing like the SW Maddie or even the Tatuaje Black Tubo (in my opinion). I only purchased two (one to smoke now and the other to age) so hopefully age will change this stick. On a different note, I have to now state that my favorite Tat release of this year has to be the Petit Cazadore Reserva....

My 2 cents :skew:

I am also in love with black tubos & the PCR. I can see how you can be more iffy on the face. I smoked my second tonight, & it's a lot different than those two. But I do have to say, this second one was a lot better than the first. Even just a few more days rest brought the flavor out a lot more...the flavors were a lot less muted. I really enjoyed it. I think some rest on this stick is going to do a lot for it.

I have two that I picked up at the Pete event last month - I just haven't had the 1.5 hours that it would take to smoke one!

So, mine will age a bit until I start burning V time next month!

The face is ok, i think pete needs to really do something special if he wants to keep this monster momentum going because the the frank was incredible and the drac and the face we just ok. I suppose they will always sell and the hype will always be alive but the cigars aren't quite living up to it...

I'd tend to agree Steve, but only with the notion that Pete needs to do something special with the Monsters (and with the Drac being "just ok"). They "should be" amazing sticks to substantiate the hype...

That said....I'd say of everything I've read (which admittedly is much more than I should).....the balance of favor for those enjoying/loving it, to thinking it was "just ok", would probably be 75/25 (maybe 80/20 even). Of course I'm not on EVERY forum, nor have I read EVERY review, but that's my best guesstimate on the ratio.

I just wish all the Monsters weren't so effin' huge.......was hoping the next was a CG, or Robusto....but the Wolf at least "looks cool".

I smoked one this past weekend and I loved it. It is one of my favorite Tats.
Agreed. I think they are much better than the Drac. I can't say how they compare to the Frank since I haven't tried one, but overall I really enjoy the flavor profile of the Face. The construction on all the Face I've had have been top notch too. Almost every Drac I tried had burn and draw issues. Just my 2 cents......

Ive only had one so far but I loved it, but Im not a huge fan of ridiculous amounts of spice or pepper so that could be why.

Man, I love the Drac, especially since ~7/2010 and after. I'm bummed I only have few left, I think its the best limited Tat ive had...
And the Face is great IMO.

I assume the monster cigars will mostly be large, but to me it seems Pete intentionally chooses the size/shape for the monster, I think he's picked well so far...
I prefer larger cigars personally so I hope the larger size trend continues.
I haven't bought any boxes of his new IPCPR 2010 releases cuz they are too small for me.
My palette is only true to the first cigar(so smoking more then 1 blend is not ideal for me), and 99% of the time I have over an hour to smoke....so the larger the better. I almost always grab a Churchill...

Also, If future monsters were smaller, I'm less excited/willing to pay $13+ for a cigar that lasts half the time. That would affect my annual monster buying.

Also only had one. Not sure how I feel about it yet. I liked it, but it didn't seem like a Pete smoke to me. Just wasn't what I was expecting. They better age well, I have a dressed box and an undressed box??

If you don't like them, I'm sure there are some brotheres here who will be more than happy to take them off your hands. :cbig:

I really enjoyed the one I smoked a couple weeks ago, definitely a lot more than the Drac. I have a couple more I'm going to save and see how they age. Not being a big fan of anything bigger than a robusto, I liked how cool the Face smoked.
