After July 1st deadline for smoke free pubs in England I wondered what the old historic pubs in the city next to me would smell like. So finally got into Hull with a friend and had a pub crawl around the old town.
I imagined the pubs would still smell of spilt beer etc but instead they just smelt of damp and worse, the ones which are tiny pub rooms with toilets adjacent you can smell the pine blocks!!!! The landlords / ladies have put lots of room air fresheners out but somehow a pub smelling of cheap chemical old lady perfume isn't an attractive smell over a pint or whisky.
I wonder if you can get cigar and pipe room scents as I miss the old aroma of pubs if not the smell on my clothes. :frownno:
