Smoking Cigars & Manual Transmissions?

Is it only me, or is smoking a cigar while driving a vehicle(in my case a Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road) with a manual transmission not as relaxing as smoking in an automatic. The constant switching of the cigar from hand to hand gets annoying. Especially at night when it's hard to see your cigar ashtray...Stinky Car Ashtray...to rest the cigar in...

LOL. I'll always choose manual transmissions if it's an option. Even if it messes with my cigar smoking.

MT is the only way to go for me, so much more control over the car...I can usually shift with a cigar in my right hand tho, using the bottom half of my hand...may be easier to shift gears in my car than a truck tho.

I normally shift and smoke with the same hand, I've never really had an issue with it. There's now way I'd ever drive an automatic just to have a little easier time smoking in the car.

I only drive automatic because manual is annoying even when doing nothing but just driving.

Just expect to get a lot of ashes in your lap, but I always prefer a MT over a boring automatic

My civic(go kart) is a stick I don't have a problem , just gotta watch out with they are freshly lit so they don't hit below the heater controls.

I've only done it a few times in my manual Civic. Adds a new dimension of stress considering I'm already driving with one arm lol.

I've never tried this because I hear the smell is impossible to get out even with a detail unless you have leather.

I am usually chewing away on my cigar...Rarely leaves my mouth except for ashing, but that's just me.

Best way I've found to clean the shift boot is the man duster (i.e. air compressor) Works on just about everything! :thumbup:
Or in a pinch, the canned air office duster.
