I just showed how cool I am. I was smoking outside, and had a sweatshirt on because the temp went down dramatically. I had a 2 inch ash, and it decided to let go down my sleeve. I dropped the cigar and rushed to get all the ash out. I put the cigar on the stinky, while I made sure I had everything cleaned off. I then put the cigar back in my mouth without wiping it off.

I know that has to be the idiot move of the year with a cigar. Anyone else ever forget their common sense while smoking?

A dropped cigar (especially indoors) or an unfortunate, unplanned ash drop can make even the coolest cats scramble around like they're fighting off a swarm of bees.

Haha, I'm sure we all have similar stories.

About 2 months ago I was on a 10 hour road trip in my work van. I was in the middle of a smoke when I decided that I should stop for lunch. Instead of letting it sit in the ash tray and burn out I decided to clip it with my cutter, thinking that it would be better to clip it than letting it smolder in the ashtray while I was inside grabbing lunch.

Bad move.....should have clipped it OUTSIDE the van. The quarter size burn hole in the passenger seat of my van is a daily reminder of my temporary lapse of common sense.

Yeah, when I was at the Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival, I was smoking and eating near a trash can. A guy came by with a bit of worry, and let me know the trash can was on fire. Someone had decided to throw their cigar in the trash. We were digging through that can, trying to find out what was on fire. We did get the fire out!

During tweetup weekend this year I went to slide off the band on a nomad perfecto, little did I know, it was going to shoot right off and I sent the cigar like a missle about 5 feet thru the air onto the ground, to my surprise, the cigar was unscathed and still smoked like a champ.

i was sanding down an old tool box of my grandpa's while having my first Lot 23. i kept getting distracted by the flavours, and ended up forgetting to move the sander around :hammersma
i get embarrassed when ash drops unexpectadly in public, as i normally spend a few seconds abusing the what was ash, but has now disintergrated into thin air

On the bright side, you didn't put the lit end in your mouth. That, would have been a "smooth move".

I am constantly losing the ash somewhere on my clothes. My wife thinks I'm pathetic because I don't notice it.

My best friend and NON cigar smoker was at my house last week and I convinced him to try a very mild smoke. We were outside sitting around a cheap plastic table when I got up to BBQ some burgers. I got a whiff of burning plastic and when I returned to the table I found that my buddy had thrown the remainder of his stick, thinking it was out, into a trash can that was adjacent to the table. The result was both funny and scary at the same time... I am still scraping melted plastic from the deck...

Learned to where a cheep ass flanel shirt because of all the ash burns that have ruined some t-shirts. The man-cave is cool enough to wear it, but while outside I tend to be more careful now days.
