I went to fill up for gas today and I had to pee real bad so I went inside and I saw a snus advertisement. I figured I would try it I have never had and was just curious. So I bought some. I don't plan on starting with this crap just tryin it out (nasty nicotine addiction). But I was wondering if anyone new anything about this stuff. Like why refrigerate it? And I heat some people freeze it before they use it? It does give you a good strong buzz and no smelly cigarette smoke. Easy to hide from other people do it any where. Just wondering if you guys out there new anything about the stuff.

I got a coupon to try it free about 6 months ago... I also was not really interested in chew, or snuff, but was curious about the product and hey, it was free.

I spat the dang thing out after about 5 minutes and threw the tin in the garbage. It certainly wasn't for me. Part was the flavor, and part was the thing in my lip, and part was the constant salivating I was doing... ha ha... just uncomfortable all around.

Might be just the ticket for some folks, but it's just spitless chewing tobacco in a little baggie.

I use to dip quite a bit years ago,,refrigeration does keep the tobacco fresh and if you don't believe me buy a fresh can that has been kept cool and then try some that has been sitting out at room temperature or worse,,,in your car or truck and see which one tastes better. I always got my cans from a store that was only a week old as they keep the date on the bottom of the can. I never bought any of them that were more than a month old,,,,never tasted as good as the "fresh" stuff.

Snus are a form of snuff. The refrigeration is not necessary, it's a sales gimmick. google it, I can't post a link
Real Swedish snus is different than what people are used to calling "dip" or "snuf". I started using it a couple of years ago to get off smokes, and yes you do need to refrigerate it. The real stuff has no preservatives in it, and you can definately tell if a can hasn't been stored right. I can't vouch for the Camel and Marlboro snus, I've only bought a can of that a couple of times when I was waiting for a shipment to come in the mail.

this is not a new concept

There are differences....The big "draw" to snus in the lack of a need to spit. Although some do not spit with dip / chew, it was not intended to be swallowed. Snus is.

Thas one way to look at it.

When I was dipping, the snus was fine for a few days, then it just did not seem to do the trick. I was using 3x more snuss than I would have skoal. Glad I switched to cigars.....

I diped for a few years. I started in high school because I could do it in high school when I couldn't smoke a cigarette. I quit the nasty cigarette habit & I cut down the dip to when I was fishing. Then I cut it out entirely. I tried the Camel Snus when it came out. It was ok but not something I'd do again. I think I'll stick to cigars.

I tried one when they first came out. It wasn't too bad. I dip skoal, so it was an interesting switch. I just couldn't get used to the whole " you don't spit" thing. I was afraid if I didn't it'd make me sick to my stomach.

However, now that I'm an instructor and I can't dip in class, I may give it another try...

For the past couple years I've been buying mini cigarillos, but found I like sticking them under my lip better than smoking them. Kind of a calming high, and one every few days or so won't cause any of the problems that come from dipping.
