I think many more b/m's would sell them for this price if they could get them regularly. I know mine will jack up the price if they know what they've got.
I think I've been to the same B&M, Opus X Perfection No.4 for $59.99.... Freaking horrible. Markup to keep the lights on is one thing, but that's theft IMO.

Guy down the street from me is selling opus power rangers for $45. When confronted him about his douchey pricing he says," that's what they go for, I don't really make much on those." I told him I've got a box at home I can sell him for $35 a stick. Funny, he had the teenage girl take over the register.
That's what I paid for one.. it was painful. But no other way to get one for my friends graduation from seminary so... I bit the bullet. I'm holding off on buying myself one too. Even if I want to try it, my wallet would bleed.
Some of these B&Ms put ridiculous price tags on HTF so they keep them i stock.

just rolled out of a local: their anejo were $5 over MSRP, but they had some casa cuba at or slightly below. go fig. o)
more to the point, you have to be sensitive to higher tax areas, or even business districts where the rent is stupid just for the neighborhood. but, that considered, if it is clear they are trying to bone you (and it's plain that they were, in this case), just walk. no goodbye, no nothing, and don't spend a dime. just walk.

I usually check out pricing online to get an idea of msrp before I venture into a b&m when I'm not to familiar with a price. One here in Vegas was pricing the La Palina Pasha at $36 per stick plus tax. NO PURCHASE!

Tis the Season to be jolly....and this is one reason why I don't frequent B&M's because of this type of thing. This is not to indict every B&M but for those who charge these kinds of prices should be culled from the B&M herd. Those who know what the real pricing is should frequent those sources who really do try and save the consumers money and some B&M's have a great website and store where you can purchase HTF products...they are out there.
I was visiting a city in AL that will remain unnamed and everything that was not HTF was priced correctly, but once you found the Opus (super bellicose sticks out to me) LP (L40, rats, 9, 52) shit got serious. 9's and 52's were 25-30 each rats and L40's were 40 each. Opus was even worse at around 75 a stick. My local doesnt have a LP account but does sell the opus at around 16 per stick which seems right. I was floored that this guy was able to actually sell at these prices. I guess if you have people that will buy it, you can sell it at whatever you want.
