Did the Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival. I've always considered myself a mild to mild-medium Connecticut witha few mild Maduros thrown in guy. Been smoking for three months 1/day. I also am left wondering with a lot of sticks what all the fuss is about. I met Mr. Michael Giannini of La Gloria Cubana and he graciously signed a print for me. I smoked a complimentary very well aged La Gloria Cubana Serie N. I'm guessing well aged as it was out of a wheel, no cellophane and there where tiny white dots (plume?) on the wrapped that gave a well aged impression. Not only the strongest cigar I've smoked but the best. I've smoke cigars that cost a lot more that did not impress. This impressed and I was left in no doubt what all the fuss is about. The cigars I know are aged are just so much better than those that are not. This just blew me away. Met up with ThatRev at the RMCF. Good time was had by all. Left with some good sticks including Padron 1964s, Undercrowns and MUWATs and of course LGC Serie N :ccowboy:

Be aware of those "tiny white dots " plume should be relatively even and "not splotchy"

I can't imagine the president of the company would hand out sticks with mold, but I also would question whether it was plume given that Serie N is only around 2 years old. More importantly, if you liked the cigar, that is all that matters.

Mike is a good dude and always a pleasure to hang out with. We call him "big suit Mike", because he always has a 3 piece on. The Serie R #4 Maduro is a great stick with some age on it as well.

Not a lot of discussion just a "lot" of people talking with their wallets buying the most expensive CRA membership option. I am already a member and took advantage of the discount membership to sign up my cigar smoking girlfriend.

I agree. I've seen that on some DPG JJ and other maduros. Never was a concern.

Definitely tooth.

I have also read somewhere that the toothy bumps are richer in oils and can be the source of added flavors in a cigar. Never done anything to confirm this myself, but anyone else's input would be appreciated.
