Ok..I've been on BOTL for some time now and I think I have a good grip on cigars here in the U.S. However I severly lack knowledge in the CC department. If you were to recommend your top three cc's (and I don't mean old ones) I mean something you could buy today, what would your top three be. Also because I'm a little slow on this subject please dont abreviate. I have been doing some of my own research but I get a little overwhelmed by it all which is why I just thought I'd throw this question out to all of you.
Thanks for your help. :peace:

grdww/901X #33, rb-mn's (9, 12, & 13) and...

Oh, wait...You said no abbreviations!

heh heh

Since there ARE an overwhelming amount of brands and sizes, I thought it would be easier to group a few by strength amongst cigars that are similar in size:

Mild---El Rey Del Mundo, Chioix Supreme
Nice, well made, complex, inexpensive cigar, mostly overlooked and underrated.

Medium---San Cristobal De La Habana La Fuerza
Newer Cuban brand, released in 2006. Nice flavors, very well made and presented.

Strong---Bolivar Royal Corona
Although mild, medium and strong are cmpletely relative and subjective; Bolivar genrally makes a stronger cigar in the spectrum. Very consistent, rich flavors, and easily available.

Hope this helps!

Do I have to pick just 3? Recent stuff that's smoking well (08-09) is:

Romeo Y Julieta Short Churchills
Juan Lopez No.2
Hoyo De Monterey Petit Robustos
Partagas Serie D No.4
Partagas 8-9-8 Varnished
Trinnidad Coloniales
Partaga Shorts
Bolivar Bonitas
H. Upmann No.2
H. Upmann Mag 48's
SLR Regio

Okay my top 3 from that list that I liked the most are:

Partagas Serie D No.4
Trinnidad Coloniales
H. Upmann Mag 48's

What? No love for the Bolivar Belicosos Finos. . .:inlove:

Lots of good choices presented. As with anything, this will take some experimentation for you to find what you like. CCs have a very broad spectrum of flavor profiles. Consider the vitolas that you prefer. Here is a short sampling:

Pyramides: H. Upmann #2, Partagas Serie P#2 & Montecristo #2
Coronas Gordas: Cohiba Siglo IV, H. Upmann Mag 46 & Saint Luis Rey Series A
Robustos: Partagas Serie D #4, Cohiba Robusto & Romeo y Julietta Short Churchill
Marevas: Bolivar Petite Corona, Por Larranaga Petite Corona & Montecristo #4

I’m new to cc’s like you and I have to confess I have only smoked one. The Partagas 898Varnish is one of if not the finest cigars I have ever smoked. I have a box Cohiba Siglo 111 cooking in my humi for one week now. I will hold of putting fire to one for another two more weeks. I do look at the box every day to make sure they haven’t moved.

Add me to the mix with the Partagas Serie D #4 (PSD4). What an amazing smoke!

After that I like a lot of the others... but the PSD4 stands out for me right now.

Although I'm a noob in this too, I'll give my "so far" top 3:

Bolivar Corona Extra
Trinidad Coloniales
Partagas Short/R&J Short Church

I've only had one of the R&Js and it was mostly plugged, but even so the flavor was great--a morning cigar, though, like the Trinidad. Actually, I've very much liked everything I've had from all four of those brands (still only a couple lines from each). The other bends I've had have been very hit or miss so far. But like I said -- noob alert!

H.Upman #2 08 boxes which most have are destroying mag46s and may 50s

Partagas P#2 both 08 and 09 are smoking awesome given the small price jump for these over d4 I would go P2.

Budget conscious I would go Juan Lopes #2 for its redwine sweetness character or SLR Regios just great tobacco flavors.

As others have said its hard to list 3. I listed mainstream easily sourced sticks
