So today was the first day in just over 3 weeks that I've been able to have a cigar. I've been quite sick, and extremely busy with classes.
Today appeared to be the day to get back into this lovely hobby. But, no.

Get all my stuff together after my last class and walk to my favorite smoking spot, I have timed it just right to get my smoke in before dark here. Lighter fails on me. No big deal... walk back to the dorm room and get another one. Make the trip back out.
Success!!!! Not quite...
Made it about 1/3 way into this 601 Reserva Limitada Green Label, and the temperature drops like a rock. Meh, I can tough it out. One minute later, freezing rain rolls in. I give in and call it quits. :hanghead:

Anybody else have days like this? Or better yet, have any funny stories about trying to tough it out through poor weather conditions?

Heck yeah I've experienced this.

A had a night back in Canada a few months ago. I went outside to smoke an Oliva G Maduro torpedo.

Lighter fails. Move to matches. Wind won't let me light them. Go through 6 matches, then the match box falls off my lap into a puddle.

Go inside and get a lighter. Of course I should have tried the lighter inside first, but yeah, got it outside, and the lighter doesn't work.

Decide to go inside, light the cigar in the house then bolt outside to smoke it.

I bolt outside, and it starts raining.

Just lovely.

Walked the dog and smoked a cigar a few times last winter when it was 10 degrees or colder out. Layers is the key, staying moving certainly helps as well. Hell even my dog gets a jacket when its that cold:grin:

Just last week I was on the front porch, temperature dropped to about 30-40f, I went from just a long sleeve shirt to sweater to a thick hoodie to all of the above & a comforter just to finish my smoke. I had to relight this one more than a few times, switching hands trying to warm up the other by blowing on them, getting practice smoking with the left hand......sheeeeeeew! I was determined to finish, my right hand was so numb I accidentally burned my finger tips by letting it burn down to far and didn't even feel it until my cigar started smelling like burnt flesh! Sheesh the things we go through to finish a smoke, when the going gets tough! Great Thread ALEX

We're spoiled. My most frustrating time was when I walked outside (at night) with my smoke and my book, and the lights on the patio went out. Instead of reading, I smoked while gazing up in the sky and thought about how long it was going to take to fix the patio light issue... oh woe is us!

yeah I have to open the garage door and smoke in there now. Of course the TV and leather couch don;t make it uncomfortable.
