I have lost all taste for some reason. The last few cigars I have smoked have absolutely no flavor. Most of these were full bodied cigars and its as if I am smoking a Macanudo or something, just smoke, no strength or flavor. Here are the last 4 I have smoked:

I don't know what's up, because I am not sick, and I'm not really stopped up (I can breathe through both nostrils) although I do have allergies. I do take Flonase every day and I investigated that and there are reports of loss of taste, but I can still taste food (or at least It seems like I can, lol).

I smoked the Fausto tonight because I know that one is usually pretty stout??? I smoked it for an hour and a half (just like the others) so I wasn't burning off the flavor (and I retro inhaled some). I cleansed my palette before hand with lemon and whiskey and had a glass of Knappogue on the rocks along with it and I did notice that I wasn't really able to taste the finer points of it either (could tast the alcohol, but not the fruity accents I usually do).

Anyone else ever have this problem. It pretty much sucks, because, hell, if you can't taste cigars, what's the point? I have tried everything I can think of except a different blend (these were all Nicaraguan based), but I don't think that's it.

This happens to people that use strong flavors in their e-cigarette. One thing that usually helps is inhaling the aroma of freshly ground coffee. Stick your face right up to the opening of the bag and breathe in through your nose. A lot of pro wine tasters use a similar trick to keep their palette fresh.

Can I inhale a couple of k-cups, lol? I don't have any fresh coffee. I'll take a few days off and see if that helps and if not I may have to buy some coffee. Thanks.

Another trick is to make sure you're drinking at least 64 ounces of water per day and lay off the heavy flavored drinks. I've also found that eating ginger seems to help. Go to a sushi place and eat those little slivers of ginger or see if a local market has any. Also try to avoid heavy/strong scents. Overly strong scented candles, incense, perfume, and even heavily seasoned food, can all add to the sensory fatigue and prolong it.

Smoke a dog rocket or two. Always help identifying the good flavors afterward. Any bad tasting yard gar would do.

I do that once in a while. Makes good cigars more enjoyable. I take cheapo garage machine rolled CC but that's the easiest up north.

Taking a break and avoiding spices help too. Empty your sinuses often and drink lots of water.

Hopefully it will come back to normal soon

After smoking cigars for the last 50 years you will experience this kind of thing...sometimes it's medicines other times it's about spicy foods and sometimes it's just plain ole burnout. Taking a break is what usually 'reboots' your tastes as smoke will attack the taste buds and alter them. Food isn't like tobacco as tobacco smoke desensitizes the taste buds so being able to distinguish tobacco flavors becomes muted. We need to be careful of this type of thing when we smoke....hot smoke will dull the taste buds and sometimes even injure them with a lot of smoking. I use to smoke 2 or 3 a day and it didn't take long before my taste buds went to hell. Take slower draws and cleanse your palate with water or have a drink that will coat your tongue which helps give you a better finish. I drink Baileys or Amarula which coats the tongue really well minimizing the burn.

I'm going threw something similar! I thought I was the only one! I even tried snuff yesterday and couldn't really smell it. I haven't been drinking much water lately and Ive been loading up on soda lately. I have to kick the soda, get hydrated, skip the cigar tonight and smell some coffee beans hopefully this will help!
