Spicy/Peppery but not full?

Hey guys. So my brother is here visiting me this week, and we've been burning sticks each day. He's a light-weight (only smokes with me, so like yearly). But he says he wants to try a spicy/peppery cigar. He thought the Skull and Bones looked cool (which it does), but I thought that might kill him, lol.

I'm having a brain fart here--drawing a blank coming up with cigars with plenty of spice or pepper, but not full-strength in terms of nicotine content. Maybe a DPG Black or a San Cristobal?

Help me with some ideas, boys. Thanks!

If the DPG black is too much, might I suggest:

Curivari Reserva Limitada 1000 Series

It is peppery but mild. JDog turned me onto these.

Your thougths on DPG Black are spot on. I really like Cabaiguan. Good taste medium strength, excellent flavors and the price is right. Many Partagas CC are good like Shorts from a cabinet as they can be throughly enjoyed for about 30 minutes.

Tatuaje Havana VI Red Angels I found one of the spiciest cigars I ever had and is a good medium to medium full strength.

What about DPG Blue?

That one has spice, pepper, and some other yummy flavours without the strength kick of even a DPG Black.

Funny you mention DPG Blue's. Many folks find them and they are marketed as stronger than the DPG Blacks. But the early one's I have from years ago seems the blues were not as strong as the black. :dunno:

I don't think I'd ever give a JdN to a newbie smoker.

Even the Celebracion is a fairly powerful smoke.

I agree with the recommendation for the Cabiguan's
also the Brickhouse toro or robusto. Not too Strong,
but definitely spicy, and a peppery.

Cabaiguan, or 601 Blue. The 601 Blue has a ton of spice, and great flavor too.

Cab Guapo is a good one. Viaje 50/50 red, EPC 2009 inaugural and 601 Black or Red are all worthy as well.

I really liked the siglo maduro. and the rocky patel nording. found these to be nice and spicy but not as harsh as the patel sun grown cigars.

The new DPG blacks are smoking great, the ones with the ribbon on the foot. Has that creamy underbelly back.

La Aurora 107 Lancero - Medium in strength, but full of spice.

My Father Le Bijou - Lots of pepper, but it might be a little strong for someone who doesn't smoke cigars regularly.

Benchmade - Cheap, yet full-flavored and spicy. I've given these out to novice cigar smokers who prefer a mild stogie, but they were able to tolerate its medium (almost full) strength.
