Hey guys,

Does anyone have one of these? I am thinking about picking up one in .40SW and curious of any thoughts.

Thanks!

They aren't bad. I would prefer a Glock 27 over the XD any day. But, you can't go wrong with a XD. I have never had a problem with my Glocks though.

Both the Glock 27 and XD Sub Compact are good guns, but I find them much harder to shoot than their slightly larger Compact versions, and nut much easier to conceal. I think if you start figuring out your carry holster, you may find you can go one size up and keep the basic carry options you have with the subcompacts.

I've qualified with a Glock 26 (harder than a sub nose revolver in my experience), but never really carried it. The thing was always too thick for carry in a pocket or simular very concealed carry, or if I went inside the pants, sholder, fanny pack etc. I could always get away with a larger, easier to shoot gun.

My .02 anyway.

OK, thanks for the info guys. I have talked to some other folks and they tend to agree with you guys, that the compact may be a better option. I will let you know if I get one!

Oh, I definitely think the compacts are better thant the sub-compacts. They aren't much bigger than the subs. I love my G23 :gangfire:

I think in that size you need to go single stack and flat to get any real advantage over the compacts. If you want supper easy to carry check out the Kel-Tec PF-9, it's an almost identical style to the one's our looking at, but cheaper and much flatter. It's my go to carry piece for a Florida summer when I don't want to have to dress for the carry. Kahr is about the same size, but I don't think so much a better gun to justify the higher price.

I have the XD45 in the compact model. It is a little bulky for concealed carry but not bad. I love the way it shoots though. It has a very neutral aim position for me.

I also have a Colt Officers model 70. That is nice and thin to carry. It's a little heavier though.

Sorry I'm biased as a 45 cal fan!!
