Saw the new Star Trek movie in IMAX last night and then again tonight in a "regular" theatre. I thought it rocked. And though I am a big Trek fan, I don't think you have to be one to enjoy this movie. Just a great, fun, action-packed flick IMHO.
Which was better?Saw the new Star Trek movie in IMAX last night and then again tonight in a "regular" theatre. I thought it rocked. And though I am a big Trek fan, I don't think you have to be one to enjoy this movie. Just a great, fun, action-packed flick IMHO.
Well, it might be my age, or it might be where I was sitting in the IMAX theatre (bottom of the top most section) but the action sequences were SO huge and there were a million things flying around in the frame that I found I needed a lot of lateral head motion to take it all in. And that was a little annoying. In the regular theatre I could take it all in easily. But the color depth & resolution of the image in IMAX is just incredible, so much more so than a conventional projection. And the sound in IMAX - well, 12,000 freaking watts projects the warp boom and every other significant AND insignificant sound into your every pore. I was loving that. Someone I went with said he thought the explosions were too much, to which I responded, "if it's too loud, YOU'RE TOO OLD!" :bouncetauWhich was better?
This movie rocked!!!Saw it as well, I am a purest and have to say it rocked. I dont wanna put any spoilers in here yet but since that one homeworld doesnt exist anymore do I have to burn all my DVDS to make the time continuum catch up to reality?
