Well it's been almost 2 months since we had to put our Border Collie down due to kidney failure. And while we were very sad at losing our dog of nine years, we are starting to look for our next dog. We got our first dog from BCRescue.org . A very nice lady in Little Rock, AR had rescued our pup from a local farm. So I flew out to AR (I had flight privileges back then) loaded up a dog I'd never seen, and brought her back to GA. From the flightdeck I heard her barking until takeoff. Nine years, and a small fortune in vet bills, later we were heartbroken to loose her.

Now I'm back where I started, looking for another BC on the rescue board. These dogs are definintely not for everyone, but they are amazing if you give them the time they need. I'll post some pics as soon as we are new parents.

This concludes your Oprah moment for the day.

later,
Dub

Good luck in your search. My dog actually came from Puerto Rico. The SPCA gets them off the streets there and bring them back here.

Well we're getting a 2 month old Aussie shepherd from the local shelter. He's going to the vet tomorrow to get "tutored" poor fella. We'll bring him home on Wed. and pics will be forthcoming. It's been a really long time since I've had a puppy so this should be interesting. Teething, peeing on everything, crying like a well a puppy. We're are looking forward to the fun.

If there are any small children in the neighborhood, I'm sure they'll call him that also. What a great way to mess with parents.
