It’s more about increasing cigars as they have an immense share of pipes ad pipe tobacco makers. From the pipe perspective they are finally doing a pretty decent job considering bulk tobacco and how hard macro blending can be, but there is always room for small batch dealers.CI is trying to form a monopoly on all online cigar sales.
Reduce competition and increase prices!Trying to figure out why since they own Cbid and CI already. Wonder what their plans are?

Antitrust was part of my law practice... this acquisition doesn't violate any of those laws. Too many other vendors for this to be a problem. It simply eliminates any competition between CI (and it's related cos.) and Thompson and increases their ability to raise prices without worrying about being undercut by each other. Also, as another said, STG has to pay for this acquisition (possibly by raising the price of the cigars). We have anti trust laws against monopolies.
