Stupid 911 calls

Heard this on the radio on the drive home from work. A few actual calls to the local 911 operator during the past week ...

"I need someone to drive by and check my house - because I left the coffee maker on"

"I have not received my W-2 in the mail, it's almost April and I've got to do my taxes"

"I locked my keys in my car. I need someone to help or I'll be late for work"

As an EMT/fireman, it is amazing some of the calls we run that still get thru the system and we have to respond none the less. My favorite every is non-emergency call for woman stuck in tree. Seems she climbed up about 25' to get her cat down, then looked down. She got so scared, she bear hugged the tree and would not let go. We had to throw a ladder and send a guy up to assist her down.

I think the best one I have heard was one that played on radio and TV here for weeks. Woman went into a local Burger King and asked for a sandwich Hardy's makes. When they told her they couldn't do it, she called 911 and told them to come arrest the fast food people. There was an unbelieveable back and forth witht he 911 operator trying to get her to understand that this was not and emergency nor could they help. The dumbest thing I have every heard.
