Hey guys! Been MIA for a while for well reasons, I've been prepping, getting fit and staying low for the NYPD academy. Which I'm happy to say I've been in the past couple of month already, and am looking at graduation in like 2-3 months! I can't wait!

It is definitely a lot of work with a family and a full time working wife, but it's all going to be worth it!

So to the topic..

For graduation I wanted to buy a nice drink i was thinking Johnny blue however after thinking and thinking I feel I can get a better drink for the price. Like Chivas regal 25, highland 25, royal salute 21 etc..

Once I graduate and am done with field training (6months) and get a set tour I should be back on this baby again.

So let's let the suggestions flow! Let me know your thoughts!

I'm also open to some great bourbon!

Congrats brother!!! 2 of my friends just graduated from the academy. I have a few other friends who got a few years under their belts as well.

As for your drink of choice....just scotch or maybe some bourbon or whiskey......???? Maybe some others can chime in and help you narrow down some choices for your celebratory drinks.

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked might be a nice one. Not sure how big of a budget you'd want to have for a bottle. Plus NY taxes suck!!

I actually have a nice hook for bottles I know someone who can get me wholesale prices so price is not an issue.

I'll look into double oak reserve as I LOVE reg woodford

Well in that case!!! HAHA. Old Forester I think the birthday bourbon is really nice. Blanton's, Jefferson's Reserve are a few others off the top of my head...

@Jmphotog CONGRATULATIONS!! I have a lot of family and friends on the job. Well, quoting @sofc , I'm "Ancient" so they are quickly retiring. LOL. So let me know where your final destination will be.

ON THE MORE IMPORTANT ISSUE, ALCOHOL, I would def go with the Oban 18 but for a new and different bourbon you can pick up some Widow Jane.....

If Johnnie blue is the price range you are looking for, i might suggest skipping that & get Balvenie 21yr Portwood or Glengoyne 21 year if you can find them

Congrats brother! (y) I can't help you on the beverage question...so the best advice I can give as a former LEO is this: remember your Ten Deadly Errors like your life depends on it. Because it does.
