I know that this summer was kind of tough on Wade, but if you had the option to take the summer off (teachers don't count). What would most of you do? Money is not a factor here.

I would load up the car and play golf in every state. I would probably need to convert a U-haul trailer into a travel humidor.:stretchgr

I was off alot this summer and some of it was by choice. Its was cool at times, but being young, it made my pockets a little tighter. But I had fun, did a lot of fishing and camping. Smoked a few awesome cigars.

I don't think I would have done anything different.

I'll have a small sampler of the summer from October 12th till November 9th. I will be on leave for a month collecting my last month of pay from the USAF and not have to do anything. I'll see how my month goes and I'll let you know if I would take an entire three months off. I do know one thing, I hate going to work right now because of how disenchanted I've become at this extremely misguided place. I would gladly not work for three months at this point. My last base I enjoyed going to work and blowing up something everyday that was a lot of fun.

That brings back memories. I did the same thing when I left the AF - a month of terminal leave, followed by 6 months collecting unemployment (is that still an option?) while waiting to start school. The best 7 months I ever wasted.

If I had the summer off option now, I`d do whatever came to mind, whenever it came to mind, and punctuate the whole thing with lots of good smokes.

From the time I was 22-30 I worked for Fluor-Daniels as an electrician on food processing plants. I worked from Labor day to Memorial day 7 days a week 12 hrs/day, the I'd take the summers off to fish, golf and generally do whatever I wanted. Then I got married had kids and now work year round 7 days a week 12 hrs/day.

I'd take my girl and go out on My friends sailboat with him. every summer, he takes off in his boat, and cruises the great lakes to the see way, then down the east coast a bit, then he comes back for the fall so he can go back to work.
